Common questions
Does dialysisPal work without internet?
Yes, entirely. The app has no server, no account, and no cloud dependency. It works on the plane, at the dialysis centre with bad wifi, or anywhere else. The only optional online behaviour is Apple iCloud backup, which you control at the iOS level.
Is dialysisPal a medical device?
No. dialysisPal is a tracking and journalling tool. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or alert you to medical emergencies. The numbers it shows you are the numbers you typed in, plus simple arithmetic (e.g. ultrafiltration totals, weight trends). Always discuss interpretation with your nephrology team.
Can I share my data with my doctor?
Yes. Use Settings → Export to generate a CSV or PDF of any date range. Email it, AirDrop it, or print it for your next clinic visit. Many users print the last 30 days for monthly check-ups.
Do you sync between iPhone and iPad?
Yes, through Apple's iCloud. Sign in with the same Apple ID on both devices and the database syncs automatically and end-to-end encrypted. I never see the data.
What does it cost?
€4.99 once. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. If a future major version (3.0) requires a paid upgrade, current users will get six months of warning and a discount.
Is there an Android version?
No, and there are no immediate plans. dialysisPal is built natively for iOS by one person; supporting Android well would mean a second app and a second codebase, which is more than I can responsibly maintain alongside daily life.
I found a bug. What do you need from me?
Email a.kucera@babylondreams.de with: your iOS version, your iPhone or iPad model, the app version (Settings → About), and the steps to reproduce. A screenshot helps. I usually fix reproducible bugs in the next point release.
Can you add [feature]?
Probably worth asking. The roadmap is short and pragmatic: see the changelog for what is in flight. I prioritise things that save time over things that look impressive.
